- Visual Analysis: BCBAs review graphed data to look for trends, levels, and variability in a child’s performance.
- Goal Adjustment: Based on their interpretation of the data, the BCBA determines if a skill has been mastered, if a goal needs more intensive teaching, or if a new target should be introduced.
- Treatment Fidelity: By reviewing data and providing a minimum of 5% supervision of all service hours, the BCBA ensures the treatment plan is being followed correctly and effectively.
This structure ensures that all clinical decisions are made by a master’s- or doctoral-level professional, keeping the child’s program safe, consistent, and evidence-based.
