- The RBT’s Role: The RBT is responsible for the direct, face-to-face implementation of the protocols exactly as the BCBA has written them. While they collect critical trial-by-trial data during sessions, they do not have the authority to make independent programming decisions.
If a challenge arises during therapy, the RBT must consult with their supervising BCBA rather than making adjustments to the plan themselves. This structure ensures that every change to a child’s treatment is managed by a master’s-level clinician with the necessary expertise.
