How Long does the Aba Therapy Prior Authorization Process Take?

Once a complete application package is submitted to your insurance provider, you can generally expect to receive an initial authorization decision within two to four weeks.

However, this timeline can vary depending on a few factors:

  • Review Volume: Some insurance payers may take longer if they are experiencing a high volume of requests.
  • Documentation Requirements: The process may be extended if the insurer requires additional specific clinical information or follows unique review protocols.

To ensure the process moves as quickly as possible, we coordinate with your insurer and assemble all required documentation—including the formal autism diagnosis, physician referral, and the treatment plan developed by our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)—so you do not have to manage it alone.

Please keep in mind that once therapy begins, reauthorization is typically required every six months. Our team tracks these cycles and begins preparing the renewal well in advance to ensure your child’s coverage never lapses. We also manage any appeals if a claim is denied, communicating directly with the carrier to advocate for your child’s care.

Results may vary based on individual patient circumstances. Please consult with a healthcare professional for diagnosis or treatment advice. By using this Site you indicate your acceptance of our Privacy Policy.
